Day 8Pembine, WIWe spent the morning lazing about and doing a little walking, and then we drove over to Escanaba for the afternoon, returning to the very same place I'd been three days before. This time we hit three fine establishments all mentioned in Hunt's Guide to the U.P., and all within a block of each other: we parked just outside the 8th Street Coffee House to sneak a couple minutes of free wi-fi access from them, then got some fantastic pork sandwiches at Jusk Ask/Gus Asp butcher shop, and then got three growlers (half-gallon jugs) of beer from Hereford and Hops brewpub. Upon returning to the cabin, we did what we do at the cabin: made a fire, listened to metal, drank beer, and cooked and ate large quantities of meat. Oh yeah. That's a good time. |
